Michael Rowlinson, Head of Dispute Resolution and Avoidance

Alway Assocates director, Michael Rowlinson joined the Rhead Group in 2010 following the integration of the Alway Silver Group into the business.

Michael has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and joined Alway Associates in 1998 having previously worked in commercial management in the building and civil engineering sectors, mainly with contractors.

He is a nationally respected and highly qualified contractual specialist who offers a wealth of experience in the commercial and legal issues affecting the sector and frequently acts as an advisor and lecturer on NEC3 and other construction contracts.
Michael has a master’s degree in construction law and a post graduate diploma in arbitration. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. He is an executive member of the Commercial Management Practices Committee of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Chairman of that Institution’s highly respected Contracts and Dispute Resolution Panel. He is also an external examiner for the University of Wolverhampton’s Master of Science Degree in Construction Law and has been a regular speaker for Construction Study Centre since 2000.
