The Rhead Group is a leading professional services company managing complex projects across a number of defined sectors both here in the UK and overseas. The business manages a portfolio in excess of $4Billion of construction programmes internationally with a robust breadth and depth of sector experience.

The company has a bed rock of services which are applied to six principle sectors in both the UK and overseas. This is achieved either directly or collaboratively with partner companies to offer a wider provision of high quality services. The Rhead Group continues to grow year on year which is underpinned by robust policies and a ‘can do’ approach.

The future strategy for the group includes the continuation of organic growth to increase market share whilst also acquiring new strategic capabilities to enable access into new markets.

Divisions

Rhead Energy
The Rhead Energy Division is focussed on the infrastructure required to ‘transmit energy’. Principally this focuses on gas, oil and electricity transmission and distribution networks. The continuously evolving conditions of the energy market will necessitate significant ongoing investment in infrastructure to ensure the security of supply and appropriate levels of asset redundancy. The programme management of this investment in both capital programmes and the ongoing refurbishment of national networks and terminals is a core attribute of the Rhead Group.

Rhead International
Rhead International is based from the Rhead Group offices in Abu Dhabi and Johannesburg where the full spectrum of services is deployed to support clients to effectively manage their construction projects. The Rhead Group has operated in America, South Africa, The Middle East, the Far East and Australia where we have had significant experience in the delivery of programmes. Rhead International supports each of the core sectors (Air & Maritime, Energy, Power Generation, Transport & Water) using a combination of local resources and Group wide resources. The Rhead Group is keen to continue expanding its international presence with additional offices and through the recruitment of experienced local resource.

Rhead Water
The water Industry is the largest and fastest growing capital market with over £13 Billion being invested in capital programmes across the UK over the next five years. This investment challenge in managing the many complex programmes around the UK dovetails with the strategic capability that the Rhead Group offers. Rhead Water is currently supporting three of the regional water networks in the UK with their construction programmes. Our credibility in this sector has grown from a track record of robust and efficient delivery. Rhead Water is keen to continue expanding in this exciting market over the next few years.

Rhead Power Generation
This rapidly expanding market which includes all aspects of power generation from Waste to Energy, Wind Turbines both on and offshore, Biomass, Turbo Expanders and Nuclear Power continues to feature strongly in the Rhead Group’s strategic plan. The UK has a clear ambition towards a sustainable source of power which is both secure and reliable. The development of carbon trading is incentivising investment into new forms of power generation which requires the professional skills to manage construction programmes effectively. Rhead Power Generation with the support of the wider business has significant experience in the delivery of new and traditional forms of power generation and the connection into the National Grid.

Rhead Air & Maritime
The Marine and Aerospace Industries are at the heart of the globalised economy with over 97% of goods being shipped across the seas. This dominant method of transportation requires a solid infrastructure in terms of both shipping and coastal ports. The military and commercial requirement on maritime and aerospace programmes is also significant with the ongoing construction of the Airbus Fleet, Astute Class Submarine, A400M, the Aircraft Carriers, Typhoon and the Type 45 Frigates. These complex programmes require robust project management control mechanisms to be embedded throughout the breadth and depth of its supply chain.

Rhead Transport
The Rhead Group has established a growing capability in this sector across ports, airports, rail and highways programmes. The management of contracts and costs associated through the contract, plans and outages is a specialism of the Rhead Group which has been developed over the last 20 years.
