Water

Project: Asset management programme delivery in the water sector and the implementation of a new programme and risk management strategy.

Value: Multi million dollar 5 + 5 year frameworks.

Client challenge: Implementation of a new risk mitigation and programme management strategy had resulted in outstanding planning, forecasting, delivery and closing accounting issues on work contracted-out by our client for their final year Asset Management Programme (AMP) 4 Framework. Despite the early award of framework contracts for AMP5, anticipated resources were unable to move on to the next cycle. Inconsistencies between works undertaken and works remaining were making budget forecasting difficult.

Rhead role: Rhead provided dedicated commercial and programme management expertise to complement the client’s existing team and implement a consistent managed system to audit works undertaken and assess outstanding AMP4 works. The mitigation of risk was paramount to success with a risk management and programme tracking system for historic, current and future works being introduced as part of the process.

• introduced a control system to aid the administration of the AMP4 framework contractual and commercial management and set the benchmark for future administration
