Project: UKT Construction Capex Project Portfolio.

Value: Circa £600M pa.

Client challenge: Our client required the deployment of integrated, web-based Management Reporting based on a structured approach to planning, cost collection and performance measurement. From coal-face project level up to the executive team, a consistent and integrated application was required from a centralised function across all delivery disciplines.

Rhead role: Through our innovative approach and accredited methodology, we developed an integrated Project Control procedure capable of providing Management Information at both project and executive board reporting, aligning the contract, programme, progress and cost capture into a single generic procedure. The information could be clearly understood, enabled drill-down capability and was utilised as a decision-support tool by all stakeholders throughout the programme lifecycle. Project Control was achieved through a deployment of Earned Value Management, Risk Management and Schedule Management within a comprehensive control procedure to deliver an integrated web-based reporting tool.

Benefits: Our ability to capitalise on the interface between Risk and Earned Value delivered crucial insight into project progress and allowed the client to mitigate any risks identified as Early Warnings through a core process, thus delivering value for money and realising efficiencies and opportunities. The Management Reporting output was underpinned by robust governance, driving a continuous improvement cycle and delivering best industry practice to our client.
